The marches towards Brussels are continuing on their way into the very heart of Europe, right now they are on French soil, visiting each and every town and village to lay down the foundations of democracy.
From Spain there are two different marches going to Brussels:·La Meseta March, which left from the Puerta del Sol on 26th July.·The Mediterranean March, which left from Barcelona on 8th August
On 17th August both these marches had crossed the border, the first at Irun and the second at Le Perthus.
The first march is currently at Le Barp (in the Landes region) and the second arrived in Montpellier today and will continue to Lunel tomorrow. In both these marches, a similar, deep felt desire is reflected: to instill the spirit of the meeting of 15M, to collect proposals and petitions from the surrounding villages and towns so as to put them together and to share them with the other European countries present in Brussels. The First Forum for Social Indignation-Agora Brussels will be held from 8th to 15th October.
Although there are many different sorts of requests, they can be summarized as follows:
·Crisis in representativeness
·Need for self determination by the peoples
·Agricultural policies for all or for none
The challenge now continues on French soil where support in our favour is clearly being shown, we have received this support from the following cities: Perpignan, Béziers, Montpellier, Nimes, Avignon, Valence, Lyon, Dijon, Bordeaux, Poitiers, Turns, Orleans, Narbonne and Paris. Throughout France meetings have been held with people of all ages and from all walks of life who have come together to take part and to lend their support to the marchers. The mayor of Narbonne has personally contacted the marchers with offers of help and solidarity as has the local chapter of the League of Human Rights (LDH).
It is not only the Spaniards who have undertaken this march, another march has just left Toulouse for Paris, where the two marches will join up at the “Agora Paris” 16th to 18th September.
Other marches from other countries are also being organized so as to arrive in their respective capitals on 15th October, the day marked for when citizens throughout the world will take to the streets to express their outrage at the loss of their rights at the hands of the alliance of big corporations and of politicians.
