From Matyas
Yesterday (sep/12/2011) a demonstration was organized in front of the Parliament by 4 big trade union confederations of Hungary with the support of the Civic Action Group (consisting of the Hungarian Social Forum Network, the Civic Movement, the Democratic Network and Millions for the Democray movement) . The demo started at 11 a.m. and I returned home only at 9 p.m.

About 2-3 thousand people demanded social dialogue with the government, Participants formed a “live chain” around the Parliament building and demanded social justice, protested against the government’s plan to change the Labour Code. The main slogans were: So far and no further! Stop cutting the labour rights! Enough is enough!  “Work, wage and security!” Speakers invited the attention of the Hungarian MPs to the fact that if TUs’ requests are not met, end of September further, more radical actions will follow.
